WEST SACRAMENTO, CA
We are hiring for 3 different shifts for a large mailing facility!

Schedules Available: 

1st shift: Tuesday- Saturday ($17.00/HR)

5am-1pm  & Saturday 7am until finish (no specific time)

 

2nd Shift: Monday-Friday ($17.00/HR) 

1pm-9pm &Saturday OT 7am until finish

 

3rd Shift: Monday-Thursday ($18.00/HR)

9pm-5am OR 9pm- 7am

About:

Package Handler:

  • This position is responsible for supporting the operation through a variety of positions and activities on either the reverse or delivery side of the operation. Individuals are typically cross trained in general material handling, pallet and sack loading, line feeding, or induction scanning. Responsible for following all safety and quality guidelines.

General Material Handling:

  • Prepares new gaylords for replacement on the line

  • Inspect loaded pallets before pulling from the line

  • Pulls and replaces gaylords

  • Closes full pallets as directed

  • Stages pallets for shipping

  • Prepares for material handling area set up Pallet and Sack

Loading:

  • Utilizes brick stack method for maximizing gaylord density

  • Arranges pallets to best utilize package flow on conveyor

  • Remains within pallet building area during run of operation

  • Utilizes appropriate pallet for each particular customer

  • Follows process to ensure a proper pallet building process

  • Utilizes RF scanner to scan the pallet ID, scan parcels, place packages into containers

  • Handles and loads parcel sacks using the proper methods

Line Feeding:

  • Positions pallet appropriately, cuts stretch film or opens postal sacks or bags to free freight

  • Stack packages on feed conveyor with labels facing up or forward

  • Ensure packages have a continual flow

  • Set aside any opened, damaged, or empty packages and inform supervisor

  • Advise when load is completed

  • Move and empty pallets

  • Maintains a quality environment by ensuring proper freight separation

Induction scanning:

  • Select package off feed conveyor and scan package using specific scanning guidelines to ensure an efficient scanning speed

  • Measure package to determine if any additional postage necessary

  • Determine if Priority Balloon NMF or Oversize and flag correctly in system

  • Ensure scan corresponds with mail class being processed

  • Identify any opened empty or damaged packages and advise supervisor

  • After scanning move package to correct place based on route code

  • Scan at or above minimum standards
