Job details
We’re seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our growing team. The Material Handler will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely handling, storage, and distribution of materials within our warehouse. This role is essential for maintaining our inventory and supporting our production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials and shipments against purchase orders or packing slips.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to production or other designated areas.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of materials in the warehouse.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by performing regular cycle counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in preparing and packaging finished products for shipment.
- Collaborate with the production and quality assurance teams to meet operational goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in material handling, warehouse, or inventory management preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification is a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects (up to [X] pounds) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a warehouse setting with exposure to various weather conditions.
- May require working overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
