Design Engineer (Contract to Direct or Direct Hire)
Location: Copiague, NY
Salary: $110,000 – $145,000 depending upon experience
The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical systems and devices for boilers, heat exchangers and pressure vessels.
Client is unable to provide sponsorship services.
Responsibilities
- Utilize CAD software for design
- Conduct simulations using tools to evaluate the performance of mechanical systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
- Contribute to the development of innovative mechanical solutions
- Review current designs and components prior to daily release to production
- Generate drawings and submittals.
- Coordinating with shop foreman, sales team, QC manager and other parties involved in the whole process.
- Preparing and maintaining the record of manufacturer s data reports.
- Reviewing material test reports for the items received at the factory.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field experience
- Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis, 5-10 years of experience
- Knowledge of ASME codes (Part 1, 4 and 8) mechanical engineering principles
- Experience in AutoCAD.
- Experience in understanding using formulas to calculate, when required, to comply with local and ASME codes and regulations for pressure vessels and tanks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
