Kelly®is looking for a Tool & Die Maker for Direct Hire to work at a premier manufacturing company in Santa Barbara, CA.
Salary• Pay Scale: $40 – $50 per hour
Hours: Mon. to Fri. 6:30 am to 3 pm
 
Responsibilities as a Tool & Die Maker:
This job requires the ability to work in multiple locations and/or to relocate to a different state.
• Performing maintenance, trials, and troubleshooting complex of progressive metal stamp and dies
• Setting up and operating all basic machine tools, mills, lathes, grinders, and machinist hand tools
• Grinding die components to +/- .0001″ tolerance on tool steel and carbide
• Analyzing and interpreting specifications, including blueprints and engineering sketches.
• Working in a shop inspection procedures, mechanical, optical, and computer-assisted measuring equipment.  General knowledge of jigs, fixtures, automated machinery
• Understanding and working in an SPC manufacturing environment and knowledge of various toll steels and their applications.
Qualifications:
• Have 2 years of technical school and 5 years of experience in tool and die making, specifically progressive tooling
• Possess strong math skills and problem-solving ability
• Have the ability to maintain and troubleshoot precision, high-speed progressive dies
• Are able to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion and stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals.
