$23-25/hr

*Position will be fully onsite
*Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm (occasionally needs to be available outside of regular business hours)

Kelly is seeking a Wood Buyer Assistant to work with our international manufacturing client on a direct hire basis at their production facility in Barnwell, SC. The Wood Buyer Assistant will:

  • Help develop the annual log procurement plan and log deliveries from suppliers in compliance with all regulatory requirements

  • Create weekly and monthly wood delivery reports

  • Operate as the key user for SAP system for all aspects of Wood Procurement Process

  • Assist with weekly and monthly woodyard inventories

  • Take log moisture samples (must use chainsaw)

  • Collect weekly wood chip samples

  • Monitor actual log flows (shipments) from suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements

  • Collaborate with suppliers to correct log flow or quality problems

  • Assist with weekly bark and dust sales

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a production plant setting

  • SAP experience highly desirable

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Must carry a valid driver license and have a clean DMV record

  • Must be eligible to operate company vehicles including automobiles, trucks and/or all-terrain vehicles in accordance with company policy guidelines

  • Sound verbal/written/documentation skills, along with a basic understanding of personal computer usage for record keeping purposes.

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and understand equipment Operation & Maintenance manuals and related technical standards

  • Strong work ethic, sense of duty, and the ability to mentor/cross-train team members

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

  • A sense of urgency, a capacity for accurate decisions, and the ability to exercise sound judgement in a demanding work environment.

  • Written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality/quantity

  • Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities

  • Ability to work as a team

  • There is occasional lifting that may require handling of components which can weigh up to 50 lbs
