Industrial Engineer
Location: Glen Arm, MD
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 DOE
The Industrial Engineer will establish and improve work systems by studying and optimizing facility layout, workflow, and operational processes. 
– Client is not able to provide sponsorship for this role
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Develop labor standards by analyzing work samples and methods and measuring work performance.
•    Improve labor utilization by studying work methods; testing modifications; designing new methods; recommending job restructuring. 
•    Improve workflow by studying process flowcharts; recommending modifications in workflow, workstations, and product; develop new procedures; recommend equipment modifications and purchases. 
•    Reduce waste by studying methods, equipment, and operator techniques; recommend changes; establishing procedures to identify and analyze waste. 
•    Implement work improvement programs by conferring with management and engineering staff.
•    Prepares work analysis reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
•    Recommend and assist with work improvement projects by training and guiding operators and supervisors. 
•    Maintain operations guidelines by writing and updating policies, procedures, and methods.
•    Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Lead and manage projects to improve or facilitate changes to operations. 

QUALIFICATIONS 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline. 
•    Three years’ experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment preferred. 
•    Knowledge of lean manufacturing methods and procedures. 
•    Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills required. 
•    Ability to occasionally travel to supplier and customer locations as needed.
