The Kelly® Professional & Industrial team is looking for Custom Upholsterer to join a growing client in Hartsville, SC
 
 
The Upholstery Technician is responsible for fitting, installing, and securing upholstery materials on frames, as well as building custom upholstered pieces using a variety of fabrics and padding. This role involves reading work orders, accurately measuring and cutting materials, and utilizing both hand and power tools to complete high-quality upholstery projects.
 
Title: Custom Upholsterer
Shift: 7am – 5:30pm – Monday – Thursday.
Location: Hartville, SC
Duration: Temp to Hire
Pay: $17hr +
 
 
Job Responsibilities:
– Fit, install, and secure material on frames using hand tools, power tools, glue, cement, or staples.
– Measure and cut new covering materials according to patterns, sketches, and design specifications, using measuring and cutting instruments.
– Build upholstered pieces with loose fiber stuffing, cotton, felt, or foam padding to create smooth, rounded surfaces.
– Make, restore, or create custom upholstered boat parts using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics and upholstery methods.
– Read work orders and apply knowledge of materials to determine the types and amounts of materials required for each project.
 
Qualifications and Skills:
– Arm-Hand Steadiness: Ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving or holding them in one position.
– Finger Dexterity: Ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers to grasp, manipulate, or assemble small objects.
– Manual Dexterity: Ability to quickly move your hand, arm, or both hands to manipulate or assemble objects.
– Near Vision: Ability to see details at close range.
– Control Precision: Ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust machine controls to exact positions.
– Previous experience as an upholsterer required
 
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to stand for up to 10 hours a day.
– Moderate lifting required.
