Kelly Science has 2 opening for a Compounding Lead for a gummy manufacturer in the Bradenton FL area. This is a great opportunity to move into a growing organization and gain additional skills. These are temp to hire roles.
Location: Bradenton FL
Hourly Pay Rate: $23-$26 (potentially more dependent on confectionary experience)
Schedules: Monday- Friday 6am-2:30pm
Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm
As a Compounding Lead, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the compounding department. Your role will involve supervising the preparation, mixing, and blending of ingredients to ensure that our gummies are produced according to quality standards and production schedules. You will also enforce safety and sanitation regulations, manage staff, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision: Lead and oversee the compounding team, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Process Monitoring: Supervise the preparation, mixing, and blending of ingredients to ensure uniformity and compliance with established quality standards.
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections and testing of ingredients and finished mixtures to promptly detect and resolve quality issues.
- Documentation and Reporting: Ensure accurate documentation of production data, including batch records, ingredient lot numbers, and production quantities. Prepare reports for management review.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and cleanliness of compounding equipment.
- Compliance and Safety: Enforce safety and sanitation regulations, adhering to safety protocols and regulatory compliance procedures, including proper handling of chemicals and adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines.
- Staff Management: Perform the same work duties as those supervised, assist in their performance, and handle more complex tasks. Direct and coordinate staff, prepare work schedules, and assign duties. Instruct and develop subordinates by assigning work, setting performance standards, monitoring and evaluating performance, providing coaching and mentoring, and recommending training.
- Policy Implementation: Implement and enforce departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with management and staff as necessary.
- Communication and Training: Provide information to management, supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates through various communication methods. Conduct or attend staff meetings and group training sessions.
- Problem Solving: Inspect equipment, structures, materials, or processes to identify the cause of errors or defects. Collaborate with workers and managers to address production or personnel issues, complaints, and grievances. Refer unresolved issues to higher-level management.
- Record Keeping: Prepare and maintain work records and reports on employee time, daily production, and inspection results. Estimate material, time, and staffing requirements based on work orders and specifications.
- Safety Reporting: Perform duties safely and report unsafe conditions or actions.
- Additional Duties: Perform and assist in other duties as needed and directed by management.
Requirements:
- 1 year minimum experience working within compounding for gummies, chocolates or other confectionary items required
- GMP experience preferred but not required
