Kelly is hiring for a Direct Hire key position for a Tank Farm Operator. Our client is a leader in the processing and storage of frozen concentrated orange juice. We are seeking a motivated, multi-tasking individual with mechanical aptitude and leadership potential to join our growing team.

Pay Rate:: $22 per hour

  • Increase up to $25 per hour after 90 days

Shift Hours:

  • 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday

  • Opportunities for OT

  • Could work 12 hours shifts based on Port Schedule

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operation of Equipment: Utilize software (PLC) for the loading/unloading of tankers and vessels with juice concentrate. Maintain USDA and customer specifications.

  • Forklift Operation: Operate a standard propane forklift to move equipment, hoses, and connect lines for unloading juice concentrate.

  • Basic Mechanical Work: Perform preventative maintenance, including lubrication of pumps and motors, adjusting pulley belts, and making minor repairs.

  • Sampling and Quality Control: Collect product samples and conduct basic lab analysis in compliance with FDA regulations.

  • Collaboration: Work alongside contractors, ship crew members, and regulatory personnel to ensure smooth operations during product delivery and offloading.

  • Cleaning & Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness of tank farm equipment. Conduct tasks like sweeping, mopping, and painting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • Forklift Experience: Experience with propane forklifts required. Onsite recertification provided.

  • Mechanical Skills: Basic understanding of machinery, including repair and maintenance (experience in auto repair or production machine repair is a plus).

  • Computer Proficiency: Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office. Training on PLC systems will be provided.

  • TWIC Card: Ability to obtain a TWIC card within the first 90 days (Client will cover the cost).

  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 25 lbs. and frequently climb stairs and ladders to access machinery.

Training and Development:

  • On-the-Job Training: One-on-one training with manager. Training period may last up to a year, depending on proficiency.

  • Continuing Education: Opportunities for ongoing learning, including courses in refrigeration and mechanical repair.
