Location: Kankakee, IL

Position Type: Full-Time, temp-to-hire
Shift: 1st – 7am to 4:30pm, Mon-Thursday and 7am to 11am on Fridays
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. They must possess a keen eye for detail, a strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to adhere to safety and production standards.
Responsibilities:
- Operate Machines: Safely and efficiently operate manufacturing machinery, including but not limited to CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, and presses.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products for defects to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on machines and report any issues or malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and address minor mechanical issues to reduce downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate production logs and report machinery outputs.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety rules and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure production goals are met and quality standards are maintained.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience as a Machine Operator or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
- Education: High school diploma or GED, preferred
- Skills: Strong mechanical skills and an understanding of machine operations and controls.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals with a high level of accuracy.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Problem-Solving: Strong deductive reasoning and troubleshooting skills.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills.
