Position: Director of Operational Enhancement
Location: Midwest  (remote with quarterly travel to Midwest plant sites)

Join our dynamic team committed to revolutionizing the RNG production industry. We are seeking a talented Director of Operational Enhancement to spearhead our continuous improvement, standardization, and optimization efforts across multiple RNG production sites. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing key managers and ensuring the development and implementation of best practices in operational procedures, safety protocols, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Management

  • Supervise and mentor the Health & Safety Manager, Operations Trainer, and Environmental Specialist.

  • Cultivate a culture of excellence and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

  • Work closely with senior leadership to align operational initiatives with overarching company goals.

2. Process Optimization and Standardization

  • Develop, implement, and refine SOPs and preventative maintenance programs across all facilities.

  • Drive the Management of Change process to ensure consistent enhancements.

  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to boost efficiency, safety, and environmental performance.

  • Standardize best practices across all sites.

3. Training and Development

  • Design and roll out comprehensive training programs for operational staff.

  • Ensure all training materials are current, effective, and industry-compliant.

  • Establish metrics to assess training program effectiveness and push for continuous improvement.

4. Safety and Compliance

  • Develop and implement robust safety programs and initiatives.

  • Ensure all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Regularly update safety protocols to maintain industry-leading standards.

5. Environmental Management and Permitting

  • Oversee the permitting process for both new and existing facilities.

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits.

  • Develop strategies to minimize environmental impact and promote sustainability.

6. Project Management

  • Lead cross-functional teams in executing key operational projects.

  • Create project plans, timelines, and budgets for major initiatives.

  • Monitor project progression and ensure on-time delivery of project milestones.

7. Performance Metrics and Reporting

  • Develop and track KPIs for operational initiatives.

  • Create regular reports on performance, safety metrics, and environmental compliance.

  • Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

8. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Represent the company in industry forums and regulatory discussions related to RNG production.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (Required).

  • Master’s degree or MBA (Preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in RNG, biogas, or renewable energy operations.

  • Proven track record in implementing operational excellence programs.

  • Strong understanding of safety management systems and environmental regulations.

  • Experience developing and implementing SOPs and training programs.

  • Excellent project management skills with cross-functional team leadership experience.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (Preferred).
