Kelly Services is currently recruiting for a Direct Hire Placement for a client in Mississauga, Ontario

Role: Supply Chain Manager

6-8 years of experience in Manufacturing from procurement to order fulfillment

Excellent communication skills

Salary: $90,000- $115,000 annually

 

The Supply Chain Manager will lead procurement along with planning and scheduling of operations to ensure fulfillment of customer orders in a timely manner. He/She will lead a team of purchasing and planning personnel to manage the material and information flow for company to streamline value stream processes.

 

Responsibilities:

· Work with finance, engineering and operations on the ERP system and oversee day-to-day transactions

· Maintain qualified suppliers in the ERP system along with proper costing of the component parts

· Work closely with product/design engineering and quality to qualify and maintain an “ASL” or Approved Supplier List that gets integrated into the Quality Management System

· Work with vendors to get appropriate volume or related discounts and establish pricing contracts where applicable

· Establish vendor managed inventory stock where applicable to keep component or raw material off Next Hydrogen’s balance sheet

· Team with manufacturing engineer, operations , and QHSE manager to set up an effective material storage stock room (warehouse) or supermarket that encompasses visual management

· Proactively communicate part availability issues to the appropriate stakeholders (manufacturing and operations supervisors/managers, planner/scheduler, and quality manager)

· Establish proper logistics and negotiate favorable pricing for incoming and outgoing material

· Work with Quality Engineer/Manager to properly document (via a NCR – non-conforming report) any incoming or in process part failures and organize the return material/parts to the supplier through the credit/return process

· Verify with Configuration Management, Manufacturing Product Engineers new part number releases, proper setup in the ERP system and the disposition of any parts that are phasing out

· Lead the coordination and execution (with finance and manufacturing) of the annual physical inventory and set up requisite cycle counts during the year

· Perform shop floor audits to verify the proper handling and ERP transaction of material from a traceability and financial standpoint (receiving, supermarket storage, job kitting, WIP movement, closing orders, tagging and quarantining suspect material, scrapping of product, etc.)

· Attend/co-lead a cadenced manufacturing operations scheduling update (at least weekly) with the manufacturing manager to drive on time deliveries

· Monitor, report, and take appropriate action monthly on the metrics/KPIs for suppliers, operations planning, and inventory

· Work with Configuration Manager and Engineering to verify and validate BOM structures from Arena (PLM) are properly set up and transact in Epicor

 

Preferred Experience/Qualifications:

 

· 8+ years experience in purchasing, scheduling and inventory management in a supply chain related position(s)

 

· 3+ years personnel leadership experience

 

· Experience with ERP systems and/or an IT system for order management and fulfillment

 

· Proven knowledge and use of Lean manufacturing principles (and/or six sigma) in a manufacturing environment

 

· Experience with quality management systems

 

· Experience facilitating SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning) process

 

· Prior experience in quarterly/annual budgeting process

 

· Customer service skills

 

· Proven negotiation skills along with a record of cost reductions in previous positions

 

· Adept in MS Office applications – Word, Excel, Powerpoint

 

· Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

 

Education:

 

· Bachelors degree in engineering, operations, business, or related field required

 

· Masters degree in operations, business, or related field desired

 

· Trained in problem solving (Lean, six sigma, or equivalent)
