Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a Histologic Laboratory Technician for a 6-month contract position at a leading scientific company in Durham, NC. Overview:
This client is a key player in laboratory services, dedicated to maintaining high standards in lab practices and support operations. As a Histologic Laboratory Technician, you will perform essential duties to ensure smooth lab operations, playing an integral part in scientific processes. This role provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a lab environment, supporting both histology and general laboratory tasks.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Assist in data recording.
- Ensure the laboratory is clean and orderly.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Health & Safety standards, and department policies/procedures.
- Receive, label, and store laboratory supplies.
- Perform basic histology support procedures (documentation, solution preparation, labeling of cassettes, slides, and tissue bags, staining of slides with hematoxylin & eosin).
- Assist with setup and maintenance of paraffin tissue processors.
- Assist in ordering supplies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Previous laboratory experience preferred.
