Kelly Government Solutions is a strategic supplier and business partner to the federal government and its key suppliers.  Through our partnership with the National Institutes of Health, Kelly Government Solutions offers administrative, IT, engineering, scientific, and healthcare professionals the opportunity to work with the leading medical research center in the world.  We are seeking an experienced individual to work as a Patient Care Coordinator at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. 

This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall: 
(1) Support NIAID’s Laboratory of Parasitic Diseases by obtaining patient records from home physicians, clinics, and hospitals using NIH-approved secure information systems. 
(2) Upload data into approved electronic records management systems and make copies of records available to NIH Principal Investigators (PIs) and protocol-specific staff. 
(3) Maintain patient-specific data in appropriate databases as instructed by clinical PI or their designees 
(4) Provide patient records to home physicians, clinics, and hospitals using NIH-approved secure information systems. 
(5) Schedule patient imaging, procedures, and physician visits in coordination with Case Managers and Research Nurses and in accordance with the requirements of specific assigned protocols 
communicate effectively with patients, case managers, study coordinators, and principal investigators and other clinical staff in a professional and timely manner. 
(6) Communicate effectively with non-English speaking patients, particularly a large Spanish-speaking patient population, either through a language interpretation service (provided) or personal Spanish language skills. 
(7) Provide expert patient travel planning and/or coordinate with travel planners to minimize cost to the NIH in support of clinical protocols. 
(8) Submit ATV for accommodations and new hospital admissions. 
(9) Compose and provide a detailed patient visit schedule to the patient, patient guardian (if appropriate), case manager or research nurse and confirm all scheduled appointments in NIH CRIMSON calendars and other calendar systems as required
(10) Send New Patient packet to incoming new patients and appointment reminders to patients. 
Coordinate volunteer payments.
(11) Coordinate shipping of lab kits and research samples. 
(12) Screen calls from patients, physicians and callers from the public; forward to appropriate staff members; update patient telephone directory as needed. 
(13) Collaborate with research nurses and study coordinators to bring in new patients, facilitate arrivals, schedules, and manage records including submitting outside pathology; submit imaging to the film library for upload. 

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
(1) Minimum of a high school diploma 
(2) Minimum of two (2) years of work experience; work experience in a clinical laboratory setting is a plus. 
(3) Knowledge pertaining to privacy of the patient, privileged information, and secure handling of the patient’s medical records. 
(4) Spanish language skills preferred but not required
(5) Ability to work on-site on the NIH campus in Bethesda, MD
