Job details
Partners with the EH&S Technician and TES EH&S Technician to provide hands-on Health & Safety engagement in support of the critical activities, compliance, safety behaviors/culture, and EH&S priorities in an assigned area. Coordinates, implements, observes, actively participates in meetings and interventions to achieve improved and sustained safety performance within the scope of this role.
- Participates in and leads EH&S training and onboarding activities for new hires and contractor company representatives
- Understands Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, wears required PPE and coaches/intervenes as appropriate
- Performs Observer role, identifies and communicates risks or hazards, and applies Dow standards to work in field
- Exercises stop work authority when unsafe conditions or actions are observed
- Is a partner between contractor workers, operations, TES, EH&S and others to achieve aligned objectives
- Develops knowledge of plant processes to work efficiently and cover the critical needs based on sequence and priority
- Understands EH&S requirements and standards. Is comfortable in a chemical manufacturing environment and can follow rules. Is visible and present, communicates well and is able to effectively use the computer programs/tools to enter data, evaluate trends and report issues and near miss events. Is able to work well with different levels of the company, different functions and is able to speak in front of groups with credibility and confidence without being confrontational.
