Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Quality Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with a client in Downers Grove, IL. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.  

Overview 
 
This client makes advanced electromechanical systems for aerospace and military customers. You’ll find their products in commercial space satellites, launch vehicles, and government programs. Due to growth, they are adding a Quality Engineer to their team.
 
In this role you’ll work independently to support the QA Manager in all aspects of maintaining and improving the Quality Management System. Supports required review and exam of product functions then prepares detailed acceptance data packages. Performs internal and external regulatory audits and maintains the corrective action system. Work is highly independent.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and facilitate customer required test witnessing and product functionality & use, including arranging for and supporting customer source inspections in accordance contractual requirements

  • Prepare acceptance data packages.

  • Review customer contracts, engineering, and manufacturing specifications.

  • Assist in assuring compliance to customer or industry requirements needed for product design, assembly or other special projects as needed

  • Understand and interpret all manufacturing audits, including AS 9100D, ISO 9001, Customer Requirements and other industry standards

  • In depth understanding of customers and their expectation with regards to inspection and documentation requirements Internal efforts to support manufacturing and process improvements including leading corrective action plans and verifying effectiveness

  • Provide guidance to other positions within the Quality department as well as facility wide to assist and support development and problem-solving
     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering, quality, physics or related required

  • Prefer 3-5 years’ experience in either a product quality, product verification, design verification or validation, or related to ensuring customer requirements in a regulated industry (aerospace, medical device, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of electromechanical assemblies either hands on or design

  • Working knowledge of AS 9100 a plus

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation, blueprints, schematics, contract requirements.
