Position Title: Transportation Coordinator
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Pay: $21/hour (depending on experience)
Work Schedule
– Monday-Friday
– 7 AM – 4 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Job Description
We are seeking a Transportation Coordinator to join our customers logistics team. The ideal candidate will coordinate and schedule multiple carriers for chemical shipments at facilities across North America. This role requires interfacing with management and various departments and entails a variety of reporting and problem resolution functions.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
– Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics/transportation scheduling or customer service
– Minimum of 2 years of college or equivalent work history
– Strong analytical skills
– Strong verbal and written communication skills
– Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
– Experience with chemicals or hazardous materials is a plus
Responsibilities Include:
– Locating carrier capacity for open shipments
– Tendering shipment notifications to 3rd party carriers
– Working within a customized Transportation Management System
– Providing resolutions for daily exceptions
– Tracking and reporting non-conformances
– Supporting and managing clients
– Conducting various data analysis/reporting
Requirements:
– Must have Excel experience and pass an Excel test
