Kelly Engineering is seeking an Application Engineering Manager to provide technical support for the development and implementation of customer applications dealing with complex operating systems.  

Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):

  • Work in collaboration with field sales in actively pursuing targeted industries opportunities and accounts by using internal selection tools.

  • Collaborate efforts with component vendors to integrate Sumitomo Products, into designed prepared packages, to offer to specific industry targets.

  • Perform cost analysis of new inquiries and quotations between SHI and SMA sales force.

  • Provide engineering technical guidance and support to sales team for various project development and proposal preparation

  • Review customer inquiries and project requirements to establish scope of supply limits and costing

  • Develop detailed comments to client project specifications

  • Evaluate non-standard product requests, applications, and capabilities

  • Work with Sales, Customers and Vendors to obtain project specific information and develop project equipment applications

  • Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers

  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated

  • Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives

  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures

  • Lead and manage employees in Applications Engineering, Backoffice Engineering and project management departments.

  • Work with Dir. Of Engineering and other Engineering Managers to streamline and improve processes, tools and resources in the department

  • Manage Case load for staff

  • Maintain team KPI’s and Metrics that align with and are applicable to company goals

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with at least eight (8) years’ experience in the rotating equipment industry.

  • Previous managerial experience required.

  • Strong working knowledge in Project Management Body of Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma CI Best Practices Green Belt Preferred
