Kelly is seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our global food manufacturer partner, in White Bear Lake. 

Our client is a team-oriented, union employer that values their talented workforce. This is a direct hire position, meaning you will be hired permanently with our client and offered their competitive benefit package upon hire.

As Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper functioning of our manufacturing process equipment throughout the plant. You will be responsible for performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, maintaining inventories of parts, conducting building maintenance and repairs, and ensuring equipment is in optimal condition.

Shifts/Pay Rate: 

12 Hour shifts, 2-2-3 Schedule (180 days per year)
$28 and up (based on experience)

  •     Day Shift: 6am-6pm

  •     Night Shift: 6pm-6am

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of plant equipment.

  • Perform building maintenance and repairs as needed.

  • Perform electrical repairs of single-phase and three-phase power distribution components.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical control wiring of equipment.

  • Inspect equipment and independently perform appropriate corrective actions within the scope of required skill level.

  • Practice appropriate safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and repair methods.

  • Independently perform assigned preventative maintenance for equipment.

  • Assist in maintaining inventories of parts and supplies, sign out parts from the storeroom, and report low supply levels to the supervisor.

  • Provide documentation of work performed on the daily Individual Shift Report.

  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related maintenance experience, or 2 years of maintenance experience with additional technical training applicable to equipment and plant maintenance.

  • Proficient skill and knowledge of single-phase electrical systems and motors.

  • High skill level and knowledge of three-phase electrical distribution systems.

  • Ability to apply electrical skills to electrical control circuits and troubleshoot electrical controls from basic electrical schematics.

  • Ability to safely use electrical test instruments such as continuity tester, ammeter, and voltage tester.

  • Mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot and perform complex repairs and machine adjustments.

  • Ability to locate, read, understand, and apply information from equipment manuals and parts manuals.

  • Basic problem-solving and troubleshooting skills within the scope of electrical and mechanical skills listed.

  • Ability to inspect equipment, recognize potential problems, and independently take appropriate corrective action.

  • MN boiler class A or B license a plus, will reimburse for license
