Engineering Manager – Sparta, NJ

$115,000 to $150,000 (Based on Candidates Experience)
This role will be responsible for managing a highly skilled engineering team in an AS9100 machining facility in accordance with world class aerospace requirements. We are looking for a dynamic leader that exemplifies leadership qualities and ability to foster growth and development with our engineering team and help drive success of the business. The focus of this role will be technical lead in allocating resources while competing with multiple priorities and variables.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of highly skilled technical labor (manufacturing engineers, programmers, quality engineers, aerospace engineers).
- Develop and communicate a technology and innovation strategy aligned with corporate business plan.
- Oversee all front-end engineering tasks (method of manufacture, contract review, customer technical flow downs).
- Review department work products for completeness (technical reports, drawings, basis of estimates).
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective measures as needed.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and professional development.
- Collaborate with executive management to understand business requirements and translate them into engineering initiatives.
- Set performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and provide feedback to team members.
- Develop and implement tactical plans to meet annual operational goals (new business, continuous improvement, quality, profitability).
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years managing technical direct labor in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 3 years experience programming, set up, and tool selection on machined components.
- Preferred aerospace manufacturing experience.
