Position: Field Service Engineer
Type: Direct Hire
Location: Beaverton, OR

Salary Range: $70K-$85K
Kelly Engineering is seeking a qualified Field Service Engineer for a direct hire role in Beaverton, OR. This is with our client, a leading global supplier of hardware/software solutions for semiconductor and electronics manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for complete field installation, startup, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of company supplied equipment of several products.

  • May include planning, scheduling, coordinating, cost control and monitoring the work in an advisory capacity to others, as well as supervising company employees in the performance of the work. This also includes documenting all job activity

  • Leading complex equipment trial runs, investigative tests, repairs, and overhauls.

  • Proven experience and strong affinity for working with SW tools.

  • Proven experience analyzing and interpreting large amounts of complex data (i.e., bug reports, production data)

  • Providing complex product and service training to customers

  • Leading and participating in complex service calls and interfacing with customers personnel to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution.

  • Leading assessment of complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and design modifications or improvements.

  • Performs complex and technically demanding work within a technical area.

  • Provides expert advice, training, and technical assistance to support staff, other Field Service team members and trains other employees as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in a STEM related discipline

  • Must be a self-starter with minimal supervision needed

  • Excellent hands-on skills and ability to navigate through complex problems

  • Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical background

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Ability to logically troubleshoot complex hardware, software, application, and process related issues an convey this information in a way the customer understands

  • Practical/theoretical in-depth knowledge of PLS/PRS software products

  • Intermediate to advanced level of experience with the installation, networking, functional use and troubleshooting of PLS/PRS products

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, intermediate/advanced Spanish language skills a plus

  • Able to work overtime and weekends, as needed

  • Flexible on shifts as needed (standard scheduled is 8AM-5PM but flexibility is preferred)

  • Flexibility to travel preferred (international and domestic)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This job operates in a customer factory site or a home of client’s office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing duties of this job the employee is required to position oneself to work on equipment at customer sites which could include bending, standing, lying on the floor, and leaning to access parts of a machine. Must also move from one place to another, remain in one position/place for long periods of time, communicate with others and exchange information. May need to lift or move machine parts or other items weighing up to 50 pounds.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

  • Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 to 5:00 PM or as assigned by the supervisor based on customer requirements. This position regular required overtime and weekend work.
