Title: Lab Technician
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Duration:  Fall Season / Short Term        
Pay Rate: $18.00 – $21.00/hour (based on education, experience, and shift differential)

Overview

  • Will be working in a testing laboratory servicing the Agricultural industry. 

  • They maintain 3 seasons (Spring, Summer, Fall) for testing which bring in a large influx of samples for testing resulting in the need for additional help through temporary workers.

  • This role teaches employees to utilize ICP instrumentation, which is a valuable and uncommon skill in many other laboratories. 

Responsibilities

  • Implement and actively support corporate safety policies, initiatives, and plant housekeeping standards.

  • Day-to-day testing and responsibilities are very repetitive work. 

  • Employees will be on their feet all day except during lunch or dinner break.  

  • This laboratory is testing soil and plant products and therefore is a dusty and dirty environment

  • The samples are ground in order to prepare them for the testing which creates dust; it is possible some people may need to wear a dust mask.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma required

  • Will consider recent college graduates

  • Candidates with industry lab experience will be eligible for higher pay rate

  • This is a short-term assignment.  It is a great way to gain laboratory experience. 

  • If the contractor performs well on their assignment, they will be welcomed to come back to work future seasons if they wish.

Additional Information

  • Onsite position / Monday – Friday

  • Start date is ASAP (once background check and/or drug screen are clear)

  • Required to wear non-mesh steel toed shoes while on assignment. 

Shift Information

  • First: 6:00am – 2:30pm / Start Date: Monday, 9.16 / Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00 an hour

  • Second: 2:00pm – 10:30pm / Start Date: Monday, 9.23 / Pay Rate: $19.00 – $21.00 an hour

  • Third: 10:00pm – 6:30am / Start date: Monday, 9.30 / Pay Rate: $21.00 an hour
