No high school diploma or GED but looking for a career in manufacturing?
A growing packaging manufacturer in Alliance, who values hard workers, is looking for 2nd Shift Set-up Operators.
$18.40 Per Hour + Overtime
Monday – Friday 2 pm – 10 pm
The Set-up Operator is mechanically inclined and responsible for setting up machines to run bags to customer specifications, checking bags throughout run, and maintaining machine efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and understand job orders, verify samples before starting job.
- Read a tape measure and accurately measure bag dimensions to ensure they are within tolerance.
- Set-up machines for all jobs.
- Chuck up rolls.
- Verify bag specs and set up on all jobs- after set-up and at shift change.
- Pull roll ticket and check against work order to ensure correct film is being converted.
- Ensure punches have catch bags at all times, empty chip vacuums as needed.
- Perform quality checks.
- Assist packers as needed.
- Clean up machine work area each shift, put away previous job’s tools/punches.
Job Requirements
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but NOT required.
Physical Requirements
- Able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and continuously lift up to 45 lbs.
- Able to operate pneumatic staple gun.
- Able to stand and walk throughout an 8-12-hour shift.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting and twisting.
- Frequent horizontal reaching.
