What’s a typical day as a Claims Assessor? You’ll be:
• Analyzing and processing complex workers’ compensation claims to determine benefits due.
• Managing claims through well-developed action plans to achieve appropriate and timely resolutions.
• Negotiating settlements within designated authority.
• Calculating and assigning reserves to claims and managing reserve adequacy.
• Preparing necessary state filings within statutory limits.
• Managing the litigation process and ensuring cost-effective claims resolution.
• Coordinating vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management.
• Using cost containment techniques to reduce overall claims costs.
• Managing claim recoveries, including subrogation and offsets.
• Communicating claim activity and processing with claimants and clients.
• Ensuring proper documentation and coding of claim files.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
• Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferred).
• Have at least 5 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Are a subject matter expert in insurance principles and laws for workers’ compensation.
• Have excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Are PC literate, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
• Have strong analytical and interpretive skills.
• Are able to work in a team environment and meet or exceed service expectations.
