$1000 sign on BONUS
This exciting Surgical Veterinary Technician (SVT) role with Kelly Outsourcing Consulting Group is located at a major medical device company in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role has been outsourced to Kelly OCG and is eligible for medical benefits, paid time off including vacation/sick time and holidays, 401K, tuition reimbursement, and annual performance reviews. As an integral part of the Preclinical Research department, the Kelly OCG team includes approximately 25 team members who all enjoy regular hours, full benefits, and career advancement opportunities. This is not a temporary role.

Schedule: On-site Monday through Friday 7am-3:30pm
Pay: $28 an hour 
Responsibilities:

  • Provide veterinary technical assistance in preparing for and conducting survival, non-survival acute , and inanimate labs in Preclinical Research.

  • Administer and maintain anesthesia as well as recover or euthanize animals in a way that ensures humane animal care and use at all times.

  • Adherence to research protocol guidelines for survival and acute lab procedures.

  • Ensure proper documentation and record keeping in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Ensure that lab areas, including surgical suites and surgical support areas, are set-up and maintained with appropriate instrumentation and lab equipment.

  • Ensure that all lab areas are maintained post lab, which may include appropriately disposing of single-use items, putting away lab equipment, and washing/sanitizing reusable instrumentation.

  • Maintain inventory of instrumentation, supplies, and equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Maintain lab and instrumentation sterility in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Quality-check QC appropriate documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Participate in required annual health surveillance program including the completion of blood-borne pathogen training and respirator fit testing, as needed .

  • Complete quarterly audit sweeps to maintain regulatory and departmental compliance on time.

  • Participate in scheduling the SVT Team on a rotational basis, based on study needs and personnel. Participate in weekend and holiday treatment coverage on a rotational basis, as needed on-call

 Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology highly preferred.

  • RVT license is required.

  • Experience in lab animal surgical research setting preferred but not required. Skills and Experience: Effective oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and math skills.

  • Ability to consistently follow directions and work under pressure.

  • Team-player; ability to work well with people of varying opinions and backgrounds.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs without assistance
