Take your career to the next level as our CNC Programmer. You will play a pivotal role in crafting and refining CNC machining processes that not only meet but exceed internal and customer expectations. You will bring your expertise to a variety of engineering tasks, from optimizing processes and programming CNC mills and lathes to hands-on machine operation, troubleshooting, and setup. You will also be key in selecting the right tooling, gauging, and fixturing, ensuring parts are inspected to the highest standards, and maintaining our tool inventory in partnership with our Tooling Management Company. - Lead the charge in process improvements for Mills and Lathes.
- Strategically manage multiple moving parts and collaborate with setup technicians.
- Master machine operation, troubleshooting, and setup.
- Create and document efficient and accurate CNC machining processes.
- Identify and manage tooling, gauging, and fixturing requirements. Inspect parts to ensure they meet top-notch specifications.
- Collaborate with our Tooling Management Company to keep tools in prime condition.
Responsibilities
- Review customer and internal drawings to fully understand the requirements and tolerances associated with each necessary component to create a proper machining approach
- Design all necessary tooling, fixturing and gauging in AutoCad, ESPRIT, Fusion 360 and others to achieve part print specifications
- Follow PPAP First Article on parts to meet drawing specifications
- Create CNC programs and Job Instruction Sheets JIS for Multi-Axis Mills and Lathes Develop and Evaluate part processes
- Routing Programming for possible improvement Manage process improvement projects, coupled with managing Windchill CN s for BOM changes, in addition to MFG/PRO to update Part Routings
- Troubleshoot CNC equipment for programs, tooling, work holding, gauging Support CNC programs for shop floor production personnel
Basic Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED is required,
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a CNC Milling Programmer
- Fluent in the use of CAD/CAM software ESPRIT, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, and others
- Ability to manually write/edit CNC programs
- Comprehensive understanding of tooling, including proper tool selection based on part features, as well as expertise in GD T and its application to part inspection.
- Proficient in the use of gauges and their correct application.
- Ability to set up, operate, and train other operators, along with proficiency in performing operations using all units of measure, including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying and dividing by 10s and 100s.
