Job details

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Polymer Lab Technologist position at the R&D facility of a chemical company in West Houston. The main responsibilities of the position are to run lab samples, record results, perform equipment maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and government regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Run lab samples and keep accurate records of all data

  • Perform common equipment calibration and maintenance and maintain records

  • Set up standard and special-purpose laboratory equipment as needed

  • Identify equipment upgrades to eliminate bottlenecks

  • Execute experimental plans and report findings to scientists and engineers in review meetings

  • Manage waste records, generation, disposal, and reporting

  • Monitor raw material/chemical supplies and order when necessary

  • Maintain housekeeping of laboratory

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Chemistry or related field is preferred

  • Minimum of 20 hours of college-level chemistry is required

  • Five years of relevant lab experience will be considered alongside education

  • Experience with the analysis of polymers would be a plus

  • Good mechanical troubleshooting skills preferred

  • Ability to read, interpret and follow written job instructions and safety procedures

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments

  • Good communications skills including the ability to clearly communicate to all levels of the organization

  • Excellent computer skills, including MS Office and the ability to learn advanced software

This is a temp to hire position with a Monday-Friday day shift work schedule. Pay rate is commensurate upon level of education and applicable experience. If you meet the above qualifications, please submit your resume for immediate consideration. #P1
