Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour

Overview
This client is an industry-leading horticultural company focused on producing the highest quality roses. In this role, you’ll be working with experienced horticulturists and plant health specialists to ensure optimal growing conditions and plant health. This role will give you an opportunity to learn advanced horticultural techniques while helping to deliver beautiful roses to customers nationwide.

Schedule: Full-time Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Perform pest and disease scouting to document pest and disease thresholds throughout the facility

  • Perform soil and water testing to ensure soil fertility and water quality are at optimal conditions

  • Input data and create documents to assist in the organization and record keeping of plant health-related processes throughout the facility

  • Conduct experiments and research to prove or disprove the efficacy of internal processes or new chemicals and fertilizers

  • Assist the Grower with the strategic planning, ordering, and release of beneficial insects throughout the facility

  • Collect and prepare plant and soil samples for laboratory analysis

  • Conduct chemical and fertilizer applications via a high-pressure sprayer

  • Operate the company truck to pick up essential items required for plant health operations

  • Work directly with the Grower to brainstorm new and innovative approaches to plant health-related issues

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in plant-related studies or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Must possess the ability to operate and calibrate handheld digital measuring equipment, including but not limited to EC/TDS, pH, DO, ORP, and free chlorine

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds

  • Driver’s license and authorization to work in the US
