Salary
$65,000 – $85,000

Overview

This client is a prominent designer and manufacturer of high-quality flow control valves, condensate removal traps, related components, and accessories. Serving a diverse range of markets, they pride themselves on innovation and the ability to provide customized solutions as well as a robust line of standard products. They are a privately owned company with a seasoned management team focused on organic sales growth and new revenue growth through acquisitions.

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer responsible for overseeing process control, electrical engineering, and troubleshooting. This role plays a key part in the development and implementation of technical solutions for various projects.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Lead and contribute to the development of technical solutions for assigned projects.

  • Assist in conducting feasibility studies and developing cost estimates.

  • Design system architecture, including PLC/HMI/DCS, I/O, networks, and computer infrastructure.

  • Create electrical control panel designs and schematics.

  • Specify and select appropriate instrumentation for projects.

  • Develop and implement PLC programs.

  • Program and support robotic systems.

  • Develop HMI/SCADA applications and design user-friendly screens.

  • Design, build, and maintain assembly and test equipment.

  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure projects meet scope, budget, and schedule expectations.

  • Communicate project progress, risks, and costs effectively to project managers throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Stay updated on industry trends and vendor offerings to recommend solutions that align with business needs.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred, but not required. Relevant work experience may be substituted in place of a degree.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in controls engineering.

  • Strong understanding of process control principles, PLC programming, robotic programming, HMI/SCADA development, and industrial network communication protocols.

  • Experience in designing and developing electrical control systems and schematics is a plus.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex control systems and develop effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple project priorities effectively.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
