Sales Engineer | Elgin, IL
Direct Hire | Full-time | In the field
Salary up to $90,000 + commission

The individual will take care of generating leads and sales for press brake, fiber laser, plasma cutting and hydraulic shears. The primary responsibilities include prospecting, lead generation and customer qualification supporting the goal of selling sheet metal working machines. Responsibility includes meeting yearly sales goals, sales planning, direct selling to end users and managing distributors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Maximize product sales and achieve all sales & activity targets
* Responsible for sales and revenue in the region
* Inform & educate customers on new technologies.
* Make routine sales calls on established customers.
* Aggressively work to identify and develop new accounts.
* Cooperation with external distribution partners
* Maximize customer attendance and participation in Trade Shows and Technical Center events.
* Provides status reports and call reports to National Sales Manager.
* Responsible for obtaining all necessary sales documentation from customer and coordinating the sales order process
* Make use of internal CRM system to maintain an accurate customer and prospect database and update customer status and contact information.
* Keep informed of product knowledge and pricing information and updates.
* Produce and maintain market information relevant to territory.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Prepare special reports, as needed.
* Assist in miscellaneous duties within the department

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
* National Sales Manager

KNOWLEDGE
* Firm experience in selling capital equipment.
* The position requires excellent communication skills.
* Experience and good connections to the main target industries is required.
* Associates degree is required, Bachelor’s degree or higher in technical field strongly preferred or combination of training and work experience
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Microsoft Office; Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

TRAVEL: Willingness to travel is a must, Must maintain Valid Driver’s License
WORKING CONDITIONS : LIFTING: Average Weight: 25 lb. Frequency: Daily
