Job Requirements

  • Prior experience operating and troubleshooting following instruments: GC, GCMS, Densitometer, a variety of Viscometers, Pour Point, Aniline Point, UVVIS, IR, Closed and Open Flash point, pH probe, color, TAN, Karl Fischer, and variety of Oxidation testing

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Willing to work overtime as needed to support business needs

  • Capable of safe, reliable, and independent laboratory work

  • Ability to work in a team setting

  • Accurately and reproducibly create blends of different products (weight %, etc)

  • Be able to work safely handling different hazardous materials

  •  Multitasking multiple high priority projects

  • Job requires a lot of physical activity lifting containers and transporting

  • Ability to formulate wet chemistry experiments and build small scale apparatus to support project under the guidance of business groups

  • Ability to develop new test methods

  • Operates and maintains analytical and physical properties testing equipment

  • Prepares and tests samples by following detailed methods to provide high quality data

  • Calculates and analyzes data. Loads data to the work order management system for review by Ph. D. Scientists and Engineers

  • Performs internal calibrations and monitoring SQC charts for quality compliance

  • Manages sample inventory, handling, shipping, storage, and disposal

  • Works, manages and safely disposes of lab chemicals as needed

  • Work alone without Supervision

PPE Required

  • Wears flame retardant clothing such as a lab coat or coverall throughout the day

  • Wears safety glasses, face shields or goggles as needed to perform a task

  • Can utilize a variety of different gloves as needed

  • Wears steel toed shoes throughout the workday

  • Can use hearing protection such as ear plugs- as needed

Capabilities:

  • Able to stand and or walk for most of the workday

  • Occasionally lift 50lbs when the need arises

  • Able to drive a Kubota utility vehicle on site

  • Occasionally turn valves on equipment

  • Can communicate in high noise environments

  • Kneels, crawls, bends on occasion depending on specific tasks

  • Ability to use hands for lab activities or typing
