Culinary Specialist – Mexican Cuisine
Kelly Science is currently recruiting for a direct hire Culinary Specialist for growing food manufacturing company located Northeast of Illinois. This role is a key member of the R&D Team, responsible for developing and improving Mexican and Asian cuisine products. This role will be responsible for They work under the guidance of the Director of Culinary Innovation to bring innovative food concepts to life, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Product Development: Lead projects from concept to launch, developing new products and improving existing ones based on market research, consumer feedback, and industry trends. Create food recipes and formulas.
- Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of Mexican and Asian cuisine, food science principles, kitchen operations, ingredients, and preparation techniques.
- Project Management: Manage timelines, budgets, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements throughout the product development process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams (marketing, production, quality assurance) to ensure successful product launch.
- Communication & Presentation: Effectively communicate and present ideas to stakeholders, collaborate with team members, and analyze data to make informed decisions.
- Quality & Safety: Maintain the highest standards of quality and safety in all developed products.
- Market Research & Innovation: Conduct market research, analyze consumer feedback, and stay updated on trends to identify new opportunities and ensure product competitiveness.
- Documentation & Risk Management: Develop and maintain product specifications, manage project risks, and continuously improve product development processes.
Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
- 3+ years of related field experience
- Experience with product development in Mexican and Asian cuisine is required.
- Strong culinary skills (knife skills, food prep, recipe development, etc.)
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Experience in product development and culinary innovation
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and analytical skills.
- Passion for food and culinary innovation.
- Experience with market research and consumer analysis.
