Overview
Under the general direction of the lead pipe stress engineer, provides piping flexibility stress analysis for projects. Provides sound engineering judgment, seasoned experience, and technical design know-how to problem-solving assignments on projects. Independent development with minimum supervision required in associated team work with piping leaders and designers, other disciplines, functions, divisions and areas.
Responsibilities
- Assure that piping stress work is performed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
- Successfully communicate technical concepts between multidisciplinary teams that span several time zones.
- Create drawings of special supports and other pipe stress related items to request quotes from vendors.
- Provide technical support for construction and commissioning on an as-needed basis.
- Support other’s technical growth by mentoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- Formal Caesar II statics training or 2 years of successful pipe stress engineering experience
- Microstation 2D drafting skills or ability to learn
- 5+ years in an engineering environment
- Licensed Profession Engineer registered in Alberta/ Ontario/ Saskatchewan
