Their new world headquarters consolidates their Pennsylvania operations into one location for the first time in 30 years. JOB DETAILS:
Mechanical Design Engineering team. Direct Hire. Designers and Mechanical Design Engineers needed, all level. Hybrid/ Remote work a possibility for the right person that may have distance commuting challenges. Salary: $80,000.00 – $110, 000.00.*

DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY:
To design new and improve existing Complex Rehab Power Wheelchair products in accordance with established procedures and protocols, mentor less experienced engineers, and drive continuous improvement within Research & Development (R&D).
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
•Design and analyze mechanical systems and assemblies including but not limited to high load structural systems, suspension systems, vehicle chassis, and powered or manual positioning systems.
•Develop, release, and revise mechanical drawings and 3D models.
•Ensure designs’ safety, effectiveness, manufacturability, reliability, and Superior Product at Reduced Cost (SPARC) initiatives are met.
•Perform component inspections as well as system verification and validation testing.
•Meet and fulfill project timelines and budgets.
•Serve as technical project lead with outside design partners and suppliers.
•Coach and teach advanced skills and techniques to less experienced team members within the department.
•Assist in the continuous improvement of design procedures and protocols to help drive design efficiency.
•Travel to domestic and international contract manufacturers as needed for product launches.
•Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents, or injuries are promptly reported to management.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Must have the ability to: Multi-task, problem-solve, and prioritize in a fast-paced working environment.
Work as part of a multi-disciplined cross-functional team.
Use hand tools and standard power tools.
Read and comprehend work instructions.
Prepare and build prototypes.
MUST HAVE:
Strong working knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or Creo.
Strong familiarity with ASTM, ASME, and ISO standards relating to materials, testing, and finishing.
Strong understanding of various manufacturing methods and their respective effects on component design.
Excellent web navigation skills.
Strong research capabilities.
Strong mechanical inclination.
Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Intermediate understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Basic working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Intermediate working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and simulation preferred.
Intermediate understanding of Permanent Magnet DC motor theory and design preferred.
Basic understanding of Lean Principles preferred.
Lift/Push/Pull 40 lbs. preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 2-3 years of experience in designing mechanical systems and assemblies.
At least 3,000 hours or 3 years of equivalent experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies along with 2D detail drawings.
At least 1 year of experience in the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in the assembly of fabricated mechanical components and systems preferred.
At least 1-2 years of hands-on experience in an environment supporting design, manufacturing, technical service, and technical processes preferred.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with machining, welding, and fabrication of mechanical assemblies preferred.
At least 5,000 hours or 5 years of equivalent experience in 3D solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies along with 2D detail drawings preferred.
At least 1 year of experience with the specific products preferred.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
