Kelly Engineering currently has an exciting opportunity for a Turnaround Planner in Seadrift, Texas! This is a long-term role with extensive growth potential in a team-oriented environment.

Job Summary:
 In concert with the Turnaround Manager, and as a member of the core turnaround team, the Turnaround Planner has responsibility for planning and execution of all phases of their assigned turnarounds (planning, pre-work, shutdown and post-work). The Turnaround Planner has the primary responsibility for ensuring the turnaround work is carried out safely, in an effective and efficient manner. The Turnaround Planner is responsible for the productivity of the assigned turnaround and for ensuring that tools, equipment, outside resources, leveraged resources, etc. are available to complete the jobs on time. This role also drives discipline in following the Global Turnaround Methodology (GTM) in order to execute turnarounds safely, on time and within budget. This individual provides continuity and coordination of planning and scheduling, provides corrective action alternatives for schedule and cost deviations and coordinates all job instructions.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Define job scopes by freeze date

  • Develop work inventory, detailed job plans, cost estimate

  • Develop integrated (operations, projects, and maintenance) turnaround schedule, ensure schedule logic is accurate

  • Drive the schedule toward minimum duration

  • Effectively works with business, site and contract personnel to:

  • Ensure all appropriate resources are committed

  • Ensure pre and post work is completed

  • Execute maintenance portion of the turnaround

  • Progress all turnaround activities including operations and capital

  • Control add-ons during the turnaround

  • Complete the turnaround within budget

  • Ensure job plans are archived

REQUIREMENTS FOR QUALIFICATION:

  • High School Graduate or GED

  • Good interpersonal skills are required, both written and verbal

  • Prior planning experience a plus; working in an industrial / chemical plant environment

  • Must be willing to work overtime as dictated by turnaround activities

  • At least 4-6 years of related experience

  • Proficiency in MS Office and SAP
