Kelly Science has multiple openings and shifts for Sample Processors for a growing client located near Clarksville IN

Part-Time:
2am-6am or 3am-7am EST Tuesday-Saturday
or
2am-6am or 3am-7am EST Monday-Friday

Full-Time:
1am-9:30am EST Tuesday-Saturday

Training Schedule (All new hires must attend ALL of training):
6pm-2:30am M-F for the first two weeks after start date

Hourly Pay Rate: $18 + $2 for shift differential

Position Summary:

The Sample Processor is responsible for the accurate and efficient handling of biological samples in an infectious disease testing laboratory. This role includes receiving, processing, and preparing samples for testing while adhering to strict protocols and safety guidelines. The Sample Processor ensures that all samples are handled with precision to support the laboratory’s goal of delivering accurate and timely test results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sample Reception and Logging:

    • Receive and verify samples upon arrival, ensuring they match accompanying documentation.

    • Log samples into the laboratory information management system (LIMS) with accurate details.


  • Sample Processing:

    • Perform initial processing of samples, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and preparation for various diagnostic assays.

    • Follow established protocols for sample handling to prevent contamination or degradation.


  • Quality Control and Documentation:

    • Maintain detailed records of sample processing activities, including any deviations or issues encountered.

    • Conduct routine checks and quality control measures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of samples.


  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

    • Operate laboratory equipment required for sample processing, such as centrifuges, pipettes, and automated systems.

    • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance.


  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of biohazard materials.

    • Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations, including OSHA, HIPAA, and other relevant guidelines.


  • Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with laboratory technicians, technologists, and management to coordinate sample processing activities.

    • Communicate effectively with team members and report any issues or discrepancies promptly.


  • Training and Development:

    • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with laboratory procedures and advancements in infectious disease testing.

    • Assist in training new staff members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., biological sciences, medical laboratory technology) preferred.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with sample processing or in a clinical environment, is desirable.

  • Skills:

    • Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques used in sample processing.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex protocols accurately.

    • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
