Kelly Science has an immediate need for a temp to hire QA Technician in Rome GA for one of our growing clients.
Location: Rome GA
Shift: Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm ( Training will be Monday-Friday 10am-7pm until November)
Hourly Pay Rate: $20
The Quality Assurance Technician ensures the quality and food safety of all raw, in-process, and finished goods by performing tests, checks, and audits. Responsibilities include accurate documentation and adherence to safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Testing & Documentation: Conduct sample preparation and testing at various production stages, using sensory abilities for product inspection. Log samples and enter test results in the ERP system, maintaining records and retention samples.
- Quality Control: Identify non-conforming materials, complete HOLD documents, and report non-conformances to the Quality Manager. Assist in managing quality issues and customer complaint investigations.
- Equipment & Inventory: Maintain, clean, and calibrate laboratory equipment. Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed.
- Training & Audits: Assist with training new lab personnel, lead or participate in internal audits, and verify sanitation changeovers.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs). Report unsafe conditions and accidents promptly.
Requirements
- Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in basic math and data interpretation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Experience with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and ERP systems.
- Ability to read, write, and interpret technical documents and reports.
- Capable of working under stress and making decisions based on factual analysis.
- Proficient in basic math and data interpretation.
- Education & Experience:
- At least one year of experience in a Quality Lab within the food industry or 2-3 years of related experience.
- Two years of college coursework in a science-related field is advantageous.
- Certification in HACCP or PCQI is a plus.
- At least one year of experience in a Quality Lab within the food industry or 2-3 years of related experience.
